Reliable essay service|Custom Bad Eating Habits.

Food is very important to human life. However, poor eating habit has negative impact on human health. Towards this, individuals should put more attention on what they eat. Diseases are caused by a number of factors and one of these factors is poor eating habit. Body metabolism, which is influenced by what we eat, contributes to either healthy being or illness in the body. The intent of this research is to address the concerns of poor eating habit in a bid reduce negative health complication associated with poor dietary habits. My objective, as a proponent of healthy eating, is to design a simple dietary program, which promotes healthy eating among the people.
One of the oldest yet common saying is Health is Wealth. As days and years are passing by, various issues concerning health conditions have been addressed in human society (Shaw, Stice,  & Becker 2009). There are issues regarding having daily exercise, quitting smoking, abstaining from excessive alcoholism, drinking enough water, eating fruits and vegetables, having healthy diet, and so forth (Bohon, Stice,  Burton 2009). But since food is one of the basic needs of man to survive, it is always a chief focus of scientists and doctors concerning the health of every individual (Stice, Spoor, Ng & Zald 2009) and (Shaw, Stice & Becker 2009). One specific thing regarding food in relation to man’s health is the diet, perhaps, health eating habits.
Statistics show that even in the adolescents, percentage of those with high regularity and high healthiness in eating habits is lower than those with unhealthy and irregular eating habits (Bonino, Cattelino, and Ciairano 236) and (Kennard 2009). Another book titled ‘Fitness and Wellness’ also asserts that to prevent too much weight gains, and other unpleasant and uncomfortable health conditions, a person must change his/her dietary habits (Hoeger and Hoeger 226). This is the reality that man’s diet in relation to his/her health condition is a common problem to all. Thus, these statements raise a question, ‘How can one change his eating habits?’ Much information has been said over the years, and it is true that countless scientists and doctors already made adequate research on how to have a healthy lifestyle; they already had many admonitions to every individual to follow their health advices and guidelines. This is a big question that becomes a burden to all. Even in terms of children’s diets, one question many people had after reading the book ‘Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy’, is how to apply the latest knowledge and guidelines to their children (Walker 2). This should be a statement that needs to be solved: “How can one who experiences a bad health condition because of irregular and unhealthy food intake, change his/her diet or eating habits?”

Aims/ objectives of the study

The intent of this research is to address the concerns of poor eating habit in a bid reduce negative health complication associated with poor dietary habits. My objective as a proponent of healthy eating is to design and promote a healthy dietary habit among people. Towards this, the following objectives would drive my study:

  1. To establish whether poor eating can compromise an individual health
  2. To establish ways to change people with bad eating habits
  3. To find out whether healthy eating increase individual’s activity and  productivity
  4. To establish the relevance of healthy eating among people

Significance of the study

The menace of diseases associated with poor eating habits is great across the globe. Obesity has become a global health problem. One out of three adults in America is obese (CDC, 2012). In addition, chronic diseases have become common such that seven out of ten Americans suffer from stroke, cancer or heart disease. In 2007, it was found that less than 22% of school going children and only 24% of adults were found to eat fruits and vegetables (CDC, 2012).These figures are alarming and attest to the fact that there is a problem.

Research Questions

  1. Does poor health eating habit contribute to chronic diseases?
  2. Does eating healthy contribute to reduction of negative effects of chronic diseases?
  3. Can simple and manageable dietary program help in reduction of disease related to poor eating?
  4. What are other factors which reduce negative effects of chronic disease?

Literature Review

Research links unhealthy eating habit to the cause of low self esteem, negative self image and high psychosocial difficulties in people. The impact of unhealthy eating habit is far-reaching as far as human health is concerned. Advertising plays a critical role in unhealthy eating (Bohon, Stice, Spoor 2009). People are easily convinced by television ads which are coined to promote consumption of goods at the expense of their negative risk factors. Busy modern life style is also pointed out as the cause of unhealthy eating. Many eating disorders occur, because individuals eat unhealthily food to find comfort, and emotional stability (Thomson 43). Eating disorder can start at an early stage in a child development (Baldwin, Stice, & Rohde 2008). It is important to educate children on the healthy eating early in life. In this regard, one of the most common causes of stress and depression is the feeling of unloved (Wester and Wester 33). Rejection and lack of love may make one to start indulging unhealthy eating, because of lack of positive attitude towards life. Poverty is another cause of unhealthy eating among different populations. Skipping meals and eating of junk food are detrimental to human health. The rise in poor nutrition among children is attributed to unhealthy eating and, therefore, should be addressed urgently (Coale 142).

The modern environment that is dominated by capitalism, free trade and inability to regulate trade has put the lives of millions of residents in danger of contacting dangerous diseases associated with unhealthy eating (Becker, Stice, Shaw & Woda 2009). This is because human beings have better opportunities to socialize and interact in the courses of their trade activities. Furthermore, the threats from waterborne bacteria, pesticides and military arsenals are ever on the increase. Around three billion people – virtually half of the world’s total population now live in urban settlements (Coale 141).  This has put pressure on the existing public health care system and provided the breeding grounds for epidemics. Towards this, there has been a great challenge to address public health care problem. It is upon world leaders to ensure that they strive to accomplish the millennium development goals within the stipulated time frame. The accomplishments of these millennium development goals will actually contribute immensely to reduction of infant mortality not only in Bolivia, but also across the globe (Smiley 2011).

In general term, research design refers to procedural approach that would help in data collection in order to address research questions. The design ought to be neatly designed and economical in answering the relevant research questions and main objectives of the dissertation. Following this definition, this research paper will be organized appropriately following generally accepted structure of research paper writing with satisfactory techniques of gathering information. Given that this is a quantitative research, relevant information will be gathered by the use of questionnaires and interviews for analytical purposes.

The structured questionnaires will be sent to a sample population. The questionnaires will seek for answers to most of research questions and objectives of this study.
In addition, I will carry out one-on-one interview with at least five individuals. To add to the information relayed in questionnaires and interviews, the research paper will also make use of secondary data from both published works in healthy eating habits. Review of literature will be crucial in evaluating the use research work carried out by other researchers in a bid to identify the missing link and address the limitations of the works.
Use of questionnaires
The use of questionnaires is informed by the ease with which it collects many data within a short period of time. However, this advantage may be curtailed by unforeseen logistical problems. The questionnaires will include the minimum of four main questions, which will be sub-divided into at least seven parts with close-ended sets of questions. These will cover the research objectives and address research questions.
Interviews and Mathematical Models
Another instrument of the research will be the use of the interview to get the opinions of at least two staffs at health care centers who would give more expertise accounts of the number of patients who seek health as a result of complications of poor eating habit. The interview questions will be designed to cover areas not covered in the questionnaires.
Planned Result Analysis
After collection of data by the methods outlined above, this paper will analyze the result using relevant tools of analysis. In this chapter, the paper will critically analyze results from interviews, questionnaires, and discuss if the findings relate to previous findings. The use of questionnaires and interviews will give a wide range of desired data that would round up the topic of discussion. It would be proper to ensure that the analysis address the main goals and research questions posed in chapter one.
Data will be collected and the main sheet analysis performed. The data will be analyzed using statistical package SPSS 18, a soft program. The dependent variables follow a normal distribution. On the other hand, logistic regression uses binary dependent variables; for instance, 1/0 would represent either an occurrence or likelihood of occurrence or failure. The fact that logistic regression can predict probable events makes the use of SPSS critical in understanding the relationship between poor eating and increase in chronic diseases
Significance testing of difference between proportions will be conducted using the Chi-square test with a value corresponding to p <0.05 for significance. The significance of difference between mean values of continuous variables will be determined by the Student independent t-test or ANOVA, with p<0.05 being considered critical or significant
