radiobiology and protection

Order Description
Topic- radiobiology and protection ( write 3 annotated bibliograghy) related to this course. see instructions.
Annotated Bibliography
INTRODUCTION
An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited.
Creating an annotated bibliography calls for the application of a variety of intellectual skills: concise exposition, succinct analysis, and informed library research.
THE ASSIGNMENT
You are encouraged to utilize the library web site. You can perform searches of all resources from the home page. For example, a search for “medical ethics radiology” returned over 1800 peer-reviewed journal articles – most with full text.
First, locate and record citations to 3 articles in peer-reviewed journals that contain information that are relevant to this course (radiobiology, protection, etc.) and not more than 10 years old.
CORRECT FORMAT FOR CITATIONS
APA citation style is required. If you do not already own a copy of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition), you may want to consider purchasing one through the MSU Book Store or elsewhere. There are writing assignments in all RADS professional core courses.

Following are examples:
Article From an Online Periodical with DOI Assigned
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number(issue#) pg #’s.
doi: 00.0000/00000000000000.x (format varies by publisher)
Article From an Online Periodical with no DOI Assigned
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number(issue#) pg #’s.
Retrieved from http://www.someaddress.com/full/url/
NOTE: Depending on your monitor settings, the examples above may indicate that the reference does not span the width of the page. This is due to the limitations of the HTML scripting & my attempt to demonstrate the required hanging indent format. The first line of the reference should start at the left margin and span the entire width of the page with subsequent lines having a 1/2″ indent. It should also be double-spaced.
NOTE 2: The DOI number is preferred. If the URL is used it must take me directly to the article. Articles from “pay sites” or requiring a log-in must be faxed to the instructor if they were NOT found through the MSU online databases.
DOI Finder – Enter your article information & this site will find the DOI for you!
CRITICALLY APPRAISING THE ARTICLE
For guidance in critically appraising and analyzing the sources for your bibliography, see How to Critically Analyze Information Sources.
Next, write a concise annotation (about 150 words) that summarizes the central theme and scope of the article. Include one or more sentences that address one or more of the following:
evaluate the authority or background of the author
comment on the intended audience
compare or contrast this work with another you have cited
explain how this work illuminates your bibliography topic.
SAMPLE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ENTRY FOR A JOURNAL ARTICLE
The following example uses the APA format for the journal citation. NOTE: APA requires double spacing within citations.
Waite, L. J., Goldschneider, F. K., & Witsberger, C. (1986). Nonfamily living and the
erosion of traditional family orientations among young adults. American
Sociological Review, 51(1), 541-554. (doi or direct URL would be placed
here – without parenthesis)
The authors, researchers at the Rand Corporation and Brown University, use data from the National Longitudinal Surveys of Young Women and Young Men to test their hypothesis that non-family living by young adults alters their attitudes, values, plans, and expectations, moving them away from their belief in traditional sex roles. They find their hypothesis strongly supported in young females, while the effects were fewer in studies of young males. Increasing the time away from parents before marrying increased individualism, self-sufficiency, and changes in attitudes about families. In contrast, an earlier study by Williams cited below shows no significant gender differences in sex role attitudes as a result of non-family living.
PLEASE NOTE: Everything must be double-spaced!
APA Format Style Sheet
1″ margins on all 4 sides
Both citation & annotation are double-spaced Times-New Roman, 12 point font
Use the line-spacing feature in Word (highlighted in green in the box to the right). DON’T just insert a blank line
Citation must be in hanging indent format.
1st line is flush with the left margin and spans the width of the page.
Subsequent lines are indented 1/2″ and span the width of the page.
DO NOT use the “Enter” key & tabs to format hanging indents
This can be set (highlighted in yellow in the box to the right) at the same time you set the double-space or you can use the little arrows on the Tab rule. The illustration below shows the proper placement of the arrows for a hanging indent.
Annotation uses standard paragraph format
Indent first line 1/2 inch
Subsequent lines are flush with the left margin
When in doubt search Word’s Help link for “hanging indent”
When completed, save your paper containing all 3 DOUBLE-SPACED annotated bibliographies in a single Word-compatible format (doc, docx or rtf) and upload and submit it as directed below.
